The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is wear to the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a rich honey patina, but throughout there are water spots and some minor oil stains. The leather trim overall has wear and heavy creasing, which has caused some cracks to appear. The handles have wear and the glazing has starting to fade. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and is tarnishing. The interior has a must scent, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
