The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with wear at the corners. The leather strap and trim have developed a medium honey patina with water spots and soiling throughout. The leather piping has wear and rubbing in the bottom corner edges. The trim at the opening of the bag shows creasing and wear. The leather strap has creasing, scuffing, and wear with a waxy texture. The glazing has worn down. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior shows soiling, wear, pen marks, and some faint spots.
