Karl Lagerfeld designed the Boy Collection as an interpretation of the boyish charm that Coco Chanel was known for. Karl was stated as saying that the very spirit of Chanel was inspired by Boy Capel, the love of her life; which is why this new collection is called the "Boy Chanel." A slight change of pace from the usual Chanel designs, this bag is made of beautiful black quilted lambskin leather with red leather trim. This particular bag is the original medium size of the collection and features a long ruthenium chain-link strap with a leather pad that can be used as a long strap or looped around as a shoulder bag. Last known price of the 'old' style medium size was $4900.
The exterior leather is clean and beautiful, but shows rubbing and wear to the bottom corners and flap corner edges. The strap shows light wear and creasing. The underside of the flap has minor scuffing. The main interior compartment shows light wear and a few faint spots, but overall is in great condition.
