The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and in good condition, but has slight wear along the base. The leather has developed a dark honey patina with heavy wear and water spots overall (please refer to photos). The handles have darkened and developed a waxy texture. They also show soiling from the goldtone buckle resting on the leather (please refer to photos). The leather trim around the top of the bag shows darkening and minor soiling as well (please refer to photos). The goldtone hardware has started to tarnish and shows flaking. The interior is clean and has no signs of heavy wear, but does carry a faint musk odor.
