The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful. Each of the edges show wear with cracked glazing. The smooth leather trim shows heavy creasing and surface scratches. The top handle shows signs of wear with fraying at the edge of the glazing. The long shoulder strap shows heavy signs of wear with staining and heavy creasing, along with splitting at the edges. The hardware has started to tarnish and shows surface scratches. The main interior compartment shows surface scratches and signs of wear along the seam. The interior zip pocket has surface scratches and some of the lining has started to flake, but is still usable.
