The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

This bag has been well loved, but is still clean and in good condition with plenty of life left in it. The canvas has minor creasing throughout. The leather has developed a honey patina, with overall wear and water spots. The leather base has heavy water stains, several indentations, and overall signs of soiling (please refer to photos). The handles have fading to the leather, while the tops have darkened overall, and the glazing is almost gone (please refer to photos). The leather base of the rear handle has become separated from the canvas, and the brass rivet is completely detached (please refer to photo #10 of photo set). The goldtone hardware has tarnished and is flaking. The interior is clean and has a faint musk odor, but otherwise has no signs of heavy wear.
