The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior leather is clean and beautiful throughout. The leather has developed a honey patina with overall water spots and wear. The leather trim along the top of the bag has creasing and rubbing from the goldtone hardware, there is also a small pen mark (please refer to photo #8 of photo set). The shoulder strap has heavy creasing and soiling throughout, while the underside has darkened slightly. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and the metal feet are fading. The interior lining has pen marks, but otherwise it is clean and in good condition.
