The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina with overall water spots. The leather trim on the bag has started to crease and shows signs of rubbing. The handles have overall have wear and creasing, especially at the tops which have darkened from being held. The goldtone hardware has fading and surface scratches. The interior has light signs of wear and a faint musk odor, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition
