The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots throughout. The leather trim has creasing and wear. The handles also have creasing and wear, along with a slight waxy texture. The shoulder strap has minor signs of wear along the glazing and a faint pen mark on the underside. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has spots, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
