The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with some fading at the top of the bag. The leather has developed a honey patina, but overall there are scratches and faint water spots. The leather piping overall has wear, rubbing, and scratches, especially to the bottom corners. The leather trim on the bag has several scratches. The front buckle strap has some black marks, creasing and cracking. The shoulder strap has wear, scratches, and creasing throughout, which has caused cracking in some areas, and also the glazing has softened. The goldtone hardware has some minor surface scratches and tarnishing. The interior has some creasing, scuff marks, and scratches, but is otherwise clean and in good condition.
