The classic rounded shape with two straps is supposed to take the form and spirit of the butterfly (Papillon). It was originally designed by Henri Vuitton in 1966 and has become one of most endearing bags of Louis Vuitton's collection. This particular Papillon is the older model that features dark leather trimmings instead of the modern day vachetta leather handles. Retail price is $700.
The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but has light creasing. The leather piping has wear and rubbing. The leather handles have wear, scuffing, creasing, scratches, and has softened from use. The glazing on the handles have started to fade. The goldtone hardware has minor hairline surface scratches and flaking. The interior has minor scratches, scuffing, wear, and pen marks, but is clean and in good condition.
