The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but throughout has softened from normal use. The base has scuff marks to the canvas. The leather has developed a honey patina, but overall there is soiling and wear. The leather trim at the bases of the shoulder strap have darkened from the hardware. The shoulder strap has started to develop a waxy texture from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, fading, and discoloration. The interior has spots and overall there is a musk odor detected, otherwise the interior is clean and still in good condition.
