The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with minor wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a light honey patina and show faint water spots throughout. The handles show a slight darkening from gentle use, and overall the handles show some scratch marks. The goldtone hardware is bright with hairline surface scratches. The interior is clean and in good condition, but shows light wear and some faint spots.
