The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas shows wear and dullness at the base. The leather strap and trim have developed a honey patina with water spots and soiling. The leather piping has wear and rubbing in the bottom corner edges. The trim at the opening of the bag shows creasing, rubbing, and wear. The leather strap has creasing, scuffing, and wear. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior shows light wear, and a few small spots, but otherwise is in good condition.
