Karl Lagerfeld designed the Boy Collection as an interpretation of the boyish charm that Coco Chanel was known for. Karl was stated as saying that the very spirit of Chanel was inspired by Boy Capel, the love of her life; which is why this new collection is called the "Boy Chanel." A slight change of pace from the usual Chanel designs, this bag is made of brown quilted calfskin leather with large stitch quilting. This particular bag is the new medium size of the collection and features a long antique ruthenium chain-link strap with a leather pad that can be used as a long strap or looped around as a shoulder bag. Current retail price is $5200.
The exterior leather has signs of soiling and wear throughout. The smooth leather trim on the edges of the bag have scuffing, wear and soiling. The corners have rubbing and wear. The hardware remains bright but does have surface scratches and there is some fading to the goldtone hardware. The shoulder strap is clean but does have scuffing and rubbing to the edges. The underside of the flap has scuff marks. The interior has some staining and signs of wear, but overall remains in good condition.
