The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean but does have scuffing and wear throughout. The bottom corners have rubbing and wear. The leather has developed a honey patina wear throughout. The leather piping has wear, rubbing and soiling throughout. The leather top handle has darkened and has wear to the leather and the glazing. The strap shows light signs of wear. The leather side tabs and hooks are clean but there is a goldtone metal rivet missing. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and tarnishing throughout. The interior lining has wear and rubbing throughout, with areas where the washable textile lining has worn through to the canvas.
