The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful. The leather overall has developed a honey patina and shows water spots. The leather piping shows wear and rubbing. The handles shows wear, rubbing, scratches, scuffing, and creasing. The strap and extender are both have wear and creasing. The goldtone hardware has hairline scratches with some light tarnishing. The interior shows light wear and some faint spots, but otherwise is in good condition.
