The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful throughout. The leather trim has developed a nice medium honey patina with some soiling and signs of use. The top handle has a few small cracks to the leather. The plastic feet and has show scratches and scuffing from use. The interior lining remains clean and in very good condition overall.
