The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean but does have scuffing and wear throughout. The front of the bag has multiple large areas where the coated canvas has rubbed through to the lining. The bottom corners have rubbing and wear. The leather has developed a honey patina wear throughout. The leather piping has wear, rubbing and soiling throughout. The leather side snap tabs have wear and there is a rivet missing. The leather top handle has darkened and has wear to the leather, soiling, staining and stickers attached. The strap shows light signs of wear an creasing. On the base of the bag the metal hanging mechanism is missing and one of the rubber feet are missing. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior lining has wear and rubbing throughout, and has begun to separate from the interior at the top and bottom of the garment bag.
