The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is slight creasing throughout. The leather has developed a very light patina and upon close inspection there are very faint water spots present. The leather throughout the bag has creasing and minor scuff marks. The leather shoulder straps have an uneven patina in some areas. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior is clean and in great condition. Please note, the front of the bag shows a heat stamping of the letters "L J."
