The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean but does have signs of rubbing to the bottom corners. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots. The piping has rubbing and wear. The handles have darkened significantly and have rubbing, scuffing and wear throughout. The goldtone hardware has scratches and flaking. The interior is clean and in great condition with light signs of rubbing.
