Karl Lagerfeld designed the Boy Collection as an interpretation of the boyish charm that Coco Chanel was known for. Karl was stated as saying that the very spirit of Chanel was inspired by Boy Capel, the love of her life; which is why this new collection is called the "Boy Chanel." A slight change of pace from the usual Chanel designs, this bag is made of gorgeous quilted calfskin leather. This particular bag is from the 2017 Cruise Cuba collection is covered in sequins and embroidery reminiscent of Cuba. It also features a goldtone chain-link strap with a leather pad that can be used as a long strap or looped around as a shoulder bag. Retail price is $5500.
The exterior leather is clean and beautiful with no signs of wear. There are faint black marks and rubbing along the top of the bag to the sequins, which is most likely from the chain strap rubbing against it. The hardware is bright and crisp. The interior is clean and in great condition. Other than the signs of gentle rubbing along the top of the flap, this bag is in excellent, like new condition!
