In keeping with Louis Vuitton's spirit of innovation, creativity and collaboration, Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Marc Newsom, Cindy Sherman, Frank Gehry, and Christian Louboutin were given free reign over Louis Vuitton's Monogram pattern to create inspired pieces for the Celebrating Monogram collection. These six Iconoclasts created a stunning collection that represents Louis Vuitton but also carries a special touch from each designer.
This particular bag from the Celebrating Monogram collection was designed by world renowned photographer Cindy Sherman. Sherman is largely known for pushing the boundaries as in image-maker since the 1970's. For this messenger bag, her inspiration sprang from the vintage stickers that were placed on vintage Louis Vuitton trunks. The messenger bag features a top handle and removable leather shoulder strap. The bag has nine embroidered patches from the artist's own design. This is truly a must-have piece for Louis Vuitton lovers. Current retail price is $4300.

The exterior coated canvas remains clean and beautiful. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots and staining. The front tie straps show wear and are splitting. The strap and top handle has some wear and the glazing has partially deteriorated which is a known defect on some of the newer Louis Vuitton items. The hardware shows minor hairline scratches. The interior lining shows wear, staining, and some spots, but otherwise is in good condition.
