In keeping with Louis Vuitton's spirit of innovation, creativity and collaboration, Karl Lagerfeld, Rei Kawakubo, Marc Newsom, Cindy Sherman, Frank Gehry, and Christian Louboutin were given free reign over Louis Vuitton's Monogram pattern to create inspired pieces for the Celebrating Monogram collection. These six Iconoclasts created a stunning collection that represents Louis Vuitton but also carries a special touch from each designer.
This particular bag from the Celebrating Monogram collection was designed by world renowned photographer Cindy Sherman. Sherman is largely known for pushing the boundaries as in image-maker since the 1970's. For this messenger bag, her inspiration sprang from the vintage stickers that were placed on vintage Louis Vuitton trunks. The messenger bag features a top handle and removable leather shoulder strap. The bag has nine embroidered patches from the artist's own design. The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful throughout. The leather trim and trim remain a nice, light honey patina with some minor soiling and water spots to the top handle. The hardware remains bright and clean. The interior lining is clean and overall in excellent condition.
