The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful throughout. The leather has developed a light patina, but overall there are water spots. The leather piping has wear. The front leather buckle strap has creasing and minor wear from normal use. The shoulder strap has creasing and signs of rubbing overall, along with markings on the leather from the buckles. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior is clean and in good condition.
