The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is slight creasing throughout. The bottom corner edges have heavy wear, in one of the rear corners the plastic interior has started to pull out of the leather (please refer to photos). The leather has developed a light caramel patina with faint water spots overall. The leather trim throughout the bag has creasing and wear. The handles have curled at the bases, while overall there is creasing and wear. The tops of the handles have lightly soiled from normal use. The shoulder strap also has creasing and wear throughout. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has some pen marks, but otherwise is clean and is still in good condition.
