The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is minor wear in the bottom corner edges with minor creasing throughout. The leather has developed a honey patina with allover water spots and wear. The leather base has soiling and scuffing throughout. The leather trim has wear, rubbing, and soiling. The shoulder strap has creasing overall, soiling, scuffing, slight wear from the buckles, and the glazing has started to wear. Also, there is a big brown stain on the strap. The drawstring has heavy wear and has softened throughout. The goldtone hardware has hairline scratches and tarnishing. The interior has minor scuffing, pen marks, and a few faint spots, but is clean and in good condition.
