The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean but has fading throughout with rubbing to the bottom corners. The leather has developed a dark honey patina with water spots, soiling, wear and creasing. The leather piping has rubbing and wear to the bottom corners. The leather shoulder strap has darkened from use, has soiling, black marks, creasing and scuffing. The glazing throughout the shoulder strap has wear and rubbing. The goldtone hardware has hairline scratches, fading and tarnishing. The lining of the front pocket has some bubbles and signs of use. The interior lining has wear, creasing, scratches, and pen marks, and the interior of the zip pocket has cracking, wear and peeling to the lining.
