The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful. The leather trim has turned a nice medium honey patina but has some light soiling and faint water stains. The hardware remains bright and clean with some hairline surface scratches. The leather trim remains clean but has a few minor scratches at the top corner edges. The interior lining is clean and overall in excellent condition.
