The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is minor creasing throughout. The bottom corner edges have wear. The leather has developed a light honey patina with faint water spots throughout. The leather trim overall has signs of scuffing and wear. The handles have wear as well as very slight soiling form being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has some spots and a pen mark is present, but otherwise the interior is clean and in good condition.
