The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with minor rubbing in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a medium honey patina with overall water spots and scuffing. The trim along the top of the bag on the back ahs soiling and staining. The handles have rubbing and scuffing from normal use. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior is clean with some rubbing and a few small pen marks.
