The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful with very minor wear to the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina, but overall there are heavy water spots. The leather piping overall has wear and fading. The leather trim on the bag has several minor oil stains. The front buckle strap has creasing and wear from normal use. The shoulder strap has wear and creasing throughout, which has caused cracking in some areas. Furthermore, the shoulder strap also has markings from the buckle and several oil stains and has soften. The goldtone hardware has some flaking and surface scratches. The interior has some creasing and scuff marks, but is otherwise clean and in good condition.
