The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but throughout there is light creasing. The top and bottom corner edges have light wear. The leather has developed a dark honey patina, but throughout there are water spots. The leather trim overall has creasing, rubbing, scratches, and signs of wear, especially to the bottom corners. The leather buckle strap has creasing from normal use and some minor oil stains. The handles have wear and the glazing is starting to wear. The handles fastener has some green stains. The goldtone hardware has started to tarnish and has surface scratches. The interior lining has fading, scuffing, and soiling, otherwise the interior is clean and still in good condition.
