The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas has minor smudges and signs of wear. The bottom base has several surface scratches throughout. The metal feet have surface scratches. The leather trim throughout the bag has developed a lovely medium caramel colored patina. The leather band around the base of the bag has wear to the corners and darker stains, as well as surface scratches throughout. The leather band around the top of the bag has water spots and scratches. The handles are a lighter patina but have faded at the top and have very noticeable creasing. The hardware throughout the bag has surface scratches the studs at the base of the handles have tarnished. The interior has scuffs throughout the bottom base as well as a faint cigarette odor. Overall this bag has been well loved but still has plenty of life left in it.
