The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is a light scuff mark near the top and has faint wear to the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a honey patina, but overall there are water spots. The leather trim at the base of the handles has light hair line scratches. The handles show wear, scuffing, and darkening from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and flaking. The interior is clean and in good condition, but shows some light wear, faint stains, and light soiling.
