The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The leather has developed a caramel patina with water spots, soiling, and darkening. The leather trim has creasing, wear, and rubbing. The leather piping has wear and rubbing with some staining. The strap has heavy wear, scuffing, scratches, and has heavy wear to the glazing. The interior is clean and in good condition, but has some wear, some faint spots, and some pen marks.
