The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but along the top and bottom edges there is light wear and fading. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots throughout. The leather base and trim on the bag has wear, scratches, and soiling. The shoulder strap has overall creasing, wear, soiling, glazing is worn down, and the buckle has left a marks on the leather. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has scratches and scuffing with a slight musk scent. Also, the inside of the pocket has started peeling.
