The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior is clean and beautiful with light scuffs throughout and a few small white marks on the base. The leather has developed a caramel patina with water spots and scuffing (especially at the corners). The handles have wear, soiling, and white paint on the leather. The glazed edges of the handles are cracking throughout. The hardware has surface scratches and flaking, but is still bright (the padlock has tarnished fully). The interior lining shows light wear and some light soiling and staining to the base. Overall the bag remains in good condition.
