The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but along the leather piping there is light wear. Furthermore, throughout the canvas there are small scuff marks. The leather has developed a honey patina with overall water spots. The leather handles have wear throughout, darkening, and they have also developed a slight waxy texture from being held. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright. The interior lining has some spots, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
