The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful. The leather handles and trim have developed a nice dark honey patina, with a darker patina at the tops of the handles and the trim along the base of the bag. The leather also shows scratch marks throughout and minor creasing on the handles. The detachable strap shows no signs of wear. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and faint flaking. The interior shows minor signs of use at the base, although it is still in great condition.
