The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful, but has wear at the edges with some peeling to the glazing. The leather trim has developed a light patina, water spots, and shows some wear from gentle use. The hardware has surface scratches throughout. The two card slots under the flap has light curling. The interior leather is clean and in good condition, but has some signs of wear, creasing, light stretching to the card slots, and light staining to the ID window.
