The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful, but shows light creasing and some wear at the bottom corners. The leather overall has developed a caramel patina with water spots, soiling, and creasing. The leather trim has heavy wear, rubbing, and stains especially at the top, bottom corners, and base. The strap has heavy wear, scuffing, scratches, darkened areas, and softening throughout with marks from the buckle resting on top. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior lining is clean and good condition with faint soiling, a several faint stains, wear, rubbing, and a perfume scent.
