The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is minor creasing along the sides. The bottom corner edges show wear to the canvas. The leather has developed a light caramel patina, but overall there are water spots and signs of wear. The leather trim along the bottom of the bag has soiling. The leather top handle also has soiling. The canvas shoulder strap has minor signs of rubbing. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and in some areas is starting to tarnish. The interior lining has some spots, but otherwise is clean and still in great condition.
