The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is very minor wear in the bottom corner edges. The leather has developed a very light patina with several faint water spots present. The glazing at the bases of the shoulder strap have cracking. The handles have light signs of wear. The rear handle has some small stains. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches, but is still bright and crisp. The interior is clean and in great condition.
