The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is wear in the bottom corner edges as well as light scuffing overall. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots and wear throughout. The leather piping and trim shows some oil stains (please refer to photos). Along the leather trim down the center of the bag there is faint soiling, mostly along the base. The handles have heavy overall wear, minor cracks are developing in the leather, and the rear handle has a dark oil stain (please refer to photos). The shoulder strap has heavy wear and creasing throughout, followed by oil stains and some minor soiling (please refer to photos). The goldtone hardware has tarnished and is flaking. The interior has stains throughout, but otherwise is clean and is still in a good condition.
