The classic Monogram Canvas has been Louis Vuitton's trademark design since it was first introduced in 1896. The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is scuffing and rubbing to the corners, some white marks and creasing throughout. The leather has developed a medium honey patina, but throughout there are water spots, scratches and soiling. The leather trim overall has heavy wear, soiling and creasing especially to the bottom. The leather side straps have indentations and large areas of staining and water marks. The handles have wear, scuffing, scratches and have softened from use. The glazing of the handles has begun to crack. The shoulder strap has punctures, water spots and soiling throughout. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches and in some areas has tarnished. The padlock has fully tarnished. The interior has a large stain, soiling and a soap smell.
