The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there are some scuff marks throughout, especially to the base. Further, the bottom edges of the bag have worn. The leather has developed a honey patina with water spots and wear overall. The handles have darkened at the tops from normal use. The goldtone hardware has flaking and fading. The interior is clean and in good condition with no visible wear, but there is a slight musk odor present.
