The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior coated canvas is clean and beautiful. The leather trim and handles have developed a nice medium honey patina with some soiling and signs of wear along the side piping and to the bottom corner edges. The handles have minor soiling and the buckle strap has faint water stains. The hardware is bright and clean with hairline surface scratches. The interior is clean with a few small pen marks at the base. Overall the bag remains in great condition.
