The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is wear to the bottom corner edges. The body of the bag has slight creasing to the canvas and the corner edges of the flap top have light wear. The leather has developed a honey patina with overall water spots. The leather piping has wear throughout. The shoulder strap has overall creasing and signs of wear. The goldtone hardware has surface scratches. The interior has pen marks throughout as well as a perfume scent, but otherwise is clean and still in good condition.
