The graphic symbols, including the quatrefoils and flowers, as well as the LV Monogram were used to prevent counterfeiting in the early days when it was first patented. Made of coated canvas, the Monogram's traditional look is also endured by its durability.

The exterior canvas is clean and beautiful, but there is faint wear and rubbing at the bottom corners. The leather trim has developed a light patina but shows faint water spots. The shoulder straps have creasing, rubbing on the edges, and are darker along the top with heavy wear to the glazing. The leather trim at the top has light creasing. The interior shows signs of wear, blue staining at the base and a small pen mark, but is otherwise clean and in great condition.
